Thriving Hearts of East Alabama was founded in 2025 out of a deep desire to see meaningful and lasting change in the lives of individuals and families living in poverty. While many efforts focus on short-term relief, Thriving Hearts was born from the conviction that people can move out of poverty when they are equipped, supported, and given opportunities to grow in stability, purpose, and hope.

Drawing from years of experience working alongside low-income families, a program was developed that intentionally puts people in a position to make changes that last. Thriving Hearts focuses on addressing not only immediate needs, but also the underlying barriers that keep families trapped in poverty—empowering participants to build skills, strengthen relationships, and pursue long-term transformation.

An essential part of the Thriving Hearts ministry is empowering the local Church to actively engage in the care of the poor. Thriving Hearts was launched through the prayer, generosity, and partnership of local churches, and continues to be sustained by their involvement. We believe the Church plays a vital role in walking alongside individuals and families, offering encouragement, accountability, and Christ-centered community.

When local churches catch the vision of Thriving Hearts, there is real potential for significant and lasting change—not only for individuals and families, but for entire communities. Together, we seek to reflect God’s heart for justice, compassion, and restoration throughout East Alabama.
